In addition to the usual clothes and shoes, I've been more and more interested in make-up products. Is it because I'm turning 18 in a few days and I feel like I can be more comfortable wearing it without feeling self conscious? Maybe. Or maybe it's because the many Youtube beauty gurus I'm subscribed to are finally getting to me.
I am hesitant about subscribing to Glossy Box Australia. I was interested in getting the Beauty Box a few months ago - I signed up and everything. Then last night, I got an email saying they've merged with Glossy Box, the leading brand of this kind in the UK. I've heard so many great things about it from UK bloggers. The box looks so cute, I might actually use them for storage (my room is a mess...)
I'm hesitant because:
- The brands they have don't completely cut it for me. Sure, they have amazing brands such as Essie, Bobbi Brown, Illamasqua and YSL. But then they've got brands like Playboy and Garnia which aren't very special..
- There are so many similar companies emerging. The one I am torn between is Lust Have It, which Ashleigh is subscribed to. They've got amazing brands too like Lancome, OPI, Laura Mercier. However, they've got a bunch of brands I haven't even heard of and the box isn't as nice...
- I'm not sure I want to pay $14.95 a month for samples. I have a fear that I won't actually use products enough and I'll end up wasting the money I could've spent on shoes or something. I mean, I am curious about make up, but I only ever wear it during special events etc.
Since it's the first Glossy Box ever in Australia, maybe they'll make it extra special to attract customers?
